The College of Surveyors
The SASI-QMS:2023-2 Standard has been developed to aid the Trial Site in assuring the protection of all clinical trial participants, and to implement systems
and processes to make certain that the results of any clinical trial are valued and valuable.
It is intended as the basis for accountability
in research wherever, whenever, and for whatever purpose the research is conducted.
Mandate, Organization and Vision
In response to the mandates of its corporate charter and its tax exempt purposes, the Site Accreditation and Standards Institute has established the "College of Surveyors" as a self-sustaining and financially viable division within its nonprofit and voluntary organization. It is purposed to deploy and maintain a regimen for assessing a Site's conformance to the SASI-QMS:2023-2 Standard.
The College of Surveyors has been organized and staffed by experienced professionals with extensive knowledge of the proper function of conformity assessment and its related regimens. It is supported by seasoned clinical research practitioners who, as Surveyors, will implement the assessments. SASI has created proprietary methods to verify and validate a Candidate Site's quality management system, its proper application to all its work processes and the reliability of its work culture.
The SASI College of Surveyors is the “springhead” from which will flow a continuous supply of competently prepared Surveyors who will conscientiously perform assessments to verify and validate conformance to the SASI-QMS:2023-2 Standard. Although Surveyors may be engaged full or part-time and will be paid for their work, the value of Surveyor status will be considered an extremely valuable career asset and membership in the College of Surveyors as a distinct honor. Initial acceptance of the Standard is dependent upon its adoption by significant stakeholders within the clinical research community. But the credibility of the Standard must be sustained by the culture at the heart of the Accreditation process; those who wrote the Standard and pressure-tested it, those who will assesss conformance to its requirements within clinical research sites and those acting as the gatekeepers of continuous quality – the SASI College of Surveyors.
